A man said his autistic son’s health deteriorated because the Western Trust did not properly address his needs. Our investigation found that the Trust failed to provide a reasonable level of care and support to both the boy and his family over a 21-year period.
We found that a consultation response to a planning application should have been made available on the Planning Portal website. While this was a record keeping error by the Belfast Planning Service, we found no grounds to question its decision to approve the application.
We recommended that the Hospice should review staff training on clear communication with patients and their carers, following our investigation into a complaint by the parents of a child in its care.
